ACME Specialty offers our customers much more than just high quality interior mirrors and exterior mirrors. We provide our clients with a wide variety of manufacturing services as well as fabrications, stampings, rigorous product testing and troubleshooting. Some of the services we provide include

Research and Development
We provide ongoing product development support to our customers. Our quest is to continuously improve our products and manufacturing systems so that our customers and their customers remain satisfied. Our engineers continuously monitor the effectiveness of our products and are able to respond quickly to customer, environmental, or governmental changes affecting our products.  Currently under review are the product and industry changes required by the new ISO 5006 viewing standard for earth moving equipment.

Manufacturing of Interior Mirrors
and Exterior Mirrors
The manufacturing services offered by ACME Specialty are second to none in the exterior mirror and interior mirror industry. Some of the manufacturing services we offer include:

  • Welding
    Resistance, TIG, and MIG welding processes are used for joining metal in our facility. We have more than 40 years of welding experience providing mirror components, which hold up well in extremely high G-force impact and vibration environments. Robotic TIG welding is also offered to control costs and maintain predictable repetition in high volume applications.
  • Riveting
    We employ autofeed tubular rivet machines to join light gauge metal and aluminum extrusions. Using this joining method, we can provide consistently tensioned ball swivel joints in controlled torque applications and reliable performance of our padded visors and see-through visors.
  • Drilling/Machining
    Our fabrication sequences often utilize multi-spindle drilling steps to reduce labor costs and improve efficiency. We have in-house capacity to drill up to 1-1/2" diameter in steel and up to 10 holes simultaneously. CNC machining can also be provided as an outsourced service
  • Polishing/Bending
    At ACME Specialty, our bending and polishing department employs single and multiple bend hydraulic machines for limitless configurations of tubular forms. Round tubing up to 1-1/2" diameter is a commonly used component in many of our mirror support systems. We offer a wide range of standard radius forms and fixturing components to keep set-up costs to a minimum. Polishing and buffing to a high luster finish is also offered as a preliminary step for anodizing or chrome plating.
  • Assembly
    Our assembly department occupies more than 30,000 square feet of high bay area and features a variety of hand and mechanical systems for assembly of our products including interior mirrors and exterior mirrors. We utilize environmentally friendly glue systems, pneumatically powered torque controlled wrenches and riveters, cell type and assembly line methods, computer supported MRP, and ISO 9001:2015 quality standards. Special tests and performance checks can be product specific and based on individual customer requirements.
  • Powder Coating
    At ACME Specialty, we have our own paint facility in which we apply a state-of-the-art powder coat paint finish to the metal components of our interior mirrors and exterior mirrors as well as our standard and see-through visors. Our super durable finish extends the life of our products in corrosive environments beyond five years. Various colors, textures, and resin systems can be provided efficiently via quick color change technology. We use statistical process controls in our facility to insure predictable consistency of performance of the finish of every one of our products.

  • Stamping
    Many of our products begin as coiled sheet metal processed through our stamping department. We utilize punch presses and brakes with a capacity of up to 200 tons to stamp small, intricate shapes on high-speed progressive dies, or large sheet metal housings produced from multiple press brake operations. Our large inventory of standard tools and dies makes customizing simple and cost effective.

    The experienced professionals at ACME Specialty also offer job shop stamping to many of our customers. Coupled with our in-house paint finishing capability, we are often a cost effective single source option for these services.

  • Local outsourced services
    Our team of local, dedicated subcontractors allows us to incorporate, utilize, and control a wide range of manufacturing processes not under our own roof but only minutes away.  We often use plastic injection and vacuum forming, E-coating, high performance durable platings, brazing, CNC machining, and laser-forming in new product designs.

Whether our mirrors are used on bulldozers, quarry haulers, farm machinery, or buses, our customers want to make sure they withstand the harshness of their environment. As an added assurance the mirrors will withstand the tests of time, ACME Specialty provides rigorous testing based on the planned use of a product. Shipping and Delivery
We use sophisticated material requirements planning (MRP) to track inventories and route production. Electronic Data Interface (EDI), bar code labeling, and just-in-time delivery are integral to our manufacturing systems. Most ACME products are delivered in one to three days and are guaranteed for one year.
